    Who is DragonSea designed for?

    DragonSea is designed for all travellers, leisure, business and family travellers who wish to make their trip as hassle free as possible or to move to another city or overseas.

    We ensure the extra luggage and all delivery material arrive on time and intact. We offer our customers more control, Global Door to Door shipments and information MONITORED REMOTELY regarding their deliveries.

    The difference is noticeable right from the start and use our easy on-line booking system and our safe and secure on-line payment options.

    Simply place an order online and book the service, we will send you empty cardboard boxes you required after we receive your deposit (Please note deposit is non-refundable if you require to cancel the order).

    Service Questions

     

    Do you have an express service?

    Our UK standard delivery service is in two working days. If you require an express service, we can arrange the next working day delivery, please contact us in advance to book this service. 

    Please note these services are not available in United Kingdom Surcharge areas such as Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands and Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of White or Isles of Sicily.

    How many types of service do you have?

    We have air and sea transportation. Both are Door-to-Door service.

    Why do you recommend Door to Door service?

    The driver will not enter your building or home. Deliveries and collections are made from downstairs in front of the building. If your premises have reception or post room, driver will deliver and collect parcel to and from reception or post room.

    Door-to-Door service covers taking a consignment from the door of the originating address, transporting it to the destination country, clearing it through Customs and delivering it to the door of the destination address. This service includes charges of transportation, temporary storage, tariffs and dispatch but not duties at the destination Customs.

    What if I am not there when the boxes arrive and how to arrange a collection?

    The driver will leave a card with a phone number that you can contact to re-arrange delivery on a day when there will be someone at home, there is no extra charge for this second attempted delivery. If delivery continues to fail the boxes are liable to be returned to the origin address or to our storage depot, if this happens additional charges will be incurred for re-shipment and storage.

    You can either book a collection via email or telephone. For any urgent collection ,  we will arrange the local courier to pick up your boxes, 7 pounds per box will be applied for individual order and 10 pounds per box will be applied for group order, please give us 2 days notice in advance to arrange, Monday to Friday will be available.  For non urgent free collection service, it will be arranged in 4 weeks, we will give you early notice and confirm the date before any arrangement.

    Do I need any consignment documentation?

    It depends on the country where you want to ship your belongings to. Only to China, Passport copy, Inventory Packing List, School Proof copy or Working Permit and Visa advancement recording copy are required. For the other countries, only Inventory Packing List and Passport copy are required.

    Why making a Transit Insurance?

    Transit Insurance is an important part of any international move. It is very important to secure your luggage or deliveries because airlines only provide limited protection for your checked luggage and cruise lines offer little or no coverage. We strongly advise you to do so for a complete peace of mind.

    Please know the insurance you choose will take effect once parcels have been collected from your sending address and can not be amended. 

     

     

    Track & Trace Questions

     

    How will I know the status of my shipment?

    Once your shipment is forwarded with DragonSea you can use our On-line Global Tracking System that allows you to continually track your deliveries, information cumulating with our delivery confirmation, which is sent to you via your choice of e-mail, phone or fax.

    How will I be contacted at destination?

    For ocean freight shipments our chosen agents will normally contact you prior to arrival. Our foreign agents can also arrange Customs clearance and local delivery if it has not been set up with us at the time of shipment. They can also provide storage facilities if required, at reasonable cost.

    For air shipments our agents, or in some cases the airline carrier, will notify you on arrival, by telephone where possible. It is therefore essential that we receive either a telephone, fax or email number so that they can contact you as soon as possible. Airlines and air freight agents on uncollected shipments levy storage charges. These can be expensive compared to storage charges levied on uncollected ocean freight consignments.

    What happens if a box is lost or there is something broken?
    We have a duty to care for your goods and we will do this to the best of our ability.
    However, we will not be responsible for loss of your goods beyond the limited liability provided under our trading terms, this means that in the event of loss you would receive a maximum of £30 per box.
    You are not covered for any breakages or loss from a box unless you have made a specific note of external damage to the box when it is delivered to you at destination, and again our liability is limited to £30 per box.
    Any notification of loss or breakage must be made to us in writing within 5 days of receipt.

    How can I guarantee the time of the delivery?

    Please note the time of arrival is not guaranteed on any services, the guide outlines approximate delivery times and services available to destinations worldwide. Various factors such as local restrictions, time of collection and customs clearance, can and do affect delivery timings.

    DO YOU OFFER GUARANTEE COLLECTION DATE?
    Yes we do offer guarantee collection date. However, this will be done by either our in house operation team our trusted partners. There must be someone available at the address for the collection to be done, and there will be extra payment required for this premium service.     DO YOU GUARANTEE COLLECTION TIME?
    Unfortunately, due to the nature of the logistic industry, we are not able to guarantee collection time at any point. We will advise you the estimated time for collection a day before we come with 2-3 hours windows so that you can be ready.

    What happens if I miss the collection time settled?

    Please ensure you are in at the collection time that you have requested. A surcharge of £10.00 will be applied if you are out when the driver tries to collect.

    What information can you give me on how my shipment is progressing in transit?

    We operate with the latest computerized tracking systems. Our system provides full details on the status of all shipments in transit and incorporates the most up-to-date information for your convenience and peace of mind.

     

    Pack Questions

     

    Do I have to use your boxes?

    No, you can use your own boxes. In fact you can use any strong/good-quality carton, suitcase or rucksack. Please note that stereo, computer or electrical cartons are normally intended for domestic distribution and are unsuitable for export shipments. We can arrange crating of items such as plasma TVs and computers for extra protection during transit for an additional fee. For any irregular size box, please give us the dimension as surcharge might be applied.

    How long can I keep your cartons?

    There is no time limit, as long as you need.

    Do you provide packing material?

    Yes, you are given FREE* packing material that will be delivered to you at the same time with the boxes. This includes bubble wrap,and tape.

    Should I lock my luggage?

    You should always attach keys to locked case with tape or a chain, so that Customs can inspect contents without having to break the lock.

    Are there any restricted items I cannot send?

    Yes, and we are not responsible for them. Please check our Prohibited Items and Dangerous goods page.

    What packs do you accept?

    All standard luggage, like suitcases, and backpacks are fine. Please attach any keys with tape or a chain, so that Customs can perform random inspections without breaking the lock. Personal suitcase will be surcharged.

     

    Pricing Questions

     

    How can I pay?

    You will need your Reference Number at hand to complete the online payment process. Please note payment must be received Paypal Out payments are subject to a surcharge of 3.5%. Cheque in full before goods can be forwarded and that PayPal and payments require a clearance period of up to 7 working days for domestic and up to 25 days for foreign. Cheque payment is not recommended for airfreight.

    We accept payment by cheque, bank draft, and bank transfer. If paying by bank transfer please give us your 5-digit reference number, so that the payment can be allocated correctly.

    Cash payments can be made at any DragonSea office or to our own drivers (normally in London, Manchester and Preston only). Please do not pay third party drivers and carriers or drivers in other countries. Please contact us if you have any doubt.

    Are there any extra charges I should know about?

    The price you see on the screen is all you will pay in normal circumstances. However, there are some additional charges that would be applied in specific circumstances.

     

    Additional box delivery/collection

    If you need more boxes and require another delivery you will be charged £15.00 per delivery.

    The additional collection will be charged also £15.00 per collection.
    Wasted Journey
    If we call to collect your boxes on the day you have instructed and you are not at home or the boxes are not ready, you will be charged £10.00.
    Unable to Deliver If we are unable to deliver your shipment because there is no one at home, re-delivery will be attempted, usually the following working day; there is no extra charge for this second delivery attempt. If however there continues to be no one at home on subsequent delivery attempts the shipment will either be returned to origin address or held in storage at a local depot. We reserve the right to charge a minimum of £5.00 per day for storage plus additional fees for return shipment.
    Mis-declaration If you dispatch more items than you have paid for, or if any single item exceeds 30kg or has dimensions greater than you have declared a minimum charge of £30.00 per item dispatched will be made.
    Storage in the UK If you tell us to store your boxes we will charge £3.00 per week or part.Inclusive compensation cover for loss is maximum of £100 per consignment, across all UK and International contract Services.
    Document Amendment

    If after you have completed the on-line documentation, this could be either the destination details form or the packing list, and changes are required, there is a £5.00 minimum charge. Changes to the name of either the Shipper or Recipient have a minimum charge of £20.00.

    The longer after departure the amendment is made the higher the charge is likely to be as declarations to ship owners, and various customs services will have been made and will need amendment.

    You will receive full written instructions on completion of both forms with the email you receive on payment of the deposit.

    Marking Box Identification If you do not write your name and address on the boxes or write a name other than your own without advising us there is a minimum charge of £10.00 per box for marking and identification.
    Late Payment Charges

    Payment must be made within 7 days of the collection/invoice date if not late payment charges will incur:

    - China
    CNY 100.00 after 7 days and CNY 50.00 for each additional week thereafter, week one starting on the first Monday after day 7, up to a maximum of 12 weeks. After 12 weeks your consignment will be given to a local charity organization that DragonSea supports.

    - Hong Kong
    HKD 100.00 after 7 days and HKD 50.00 for each additional week thereafter, week one starting on the first Monday after day 7, up to a maximum of 12 weeks. After 12 weeks your consignment will be given to a local charity organization that DragonSea supports.

    - Singapore
    SGD 60.00 after 7 days and SGD 20.00 for each additional week thereafter, week one starting on the first Monday after day 7, up to a maximum of 12 weeks. After 12 weeks your consignment will be given to a local charity organization that DragonSea supports.

    - Malaysia
    RM 60.00 after 7 days and RM 20.00 for each additional week thereafter, week one starting on the first Monday after day 7, up to a maximum of 12 weeks. After 12 weeks your consignment will be given to a local charity organization that DragonSea supports.

    - United Kingdom
    GBP 10.00 after 7 days and 5.00 for each additional week thereafter, week one starting on the first Monday after day 7, up to a maximum of 12 weeks. After 12 weeks your consignment will be given to a local charity organization that DragonSea supports.

    - United States
    USD 20.00 after 7 days and USD 10.00 for each additional week thereafter, week one starting on the first Monday after day 7, up to a maximum of 12 weeks. After 12 weeks your consignment will be given to a local charity organization that DragonSea supports.

    £5.00 per box.

    Overweight for Sea: £2/kg

    Overweight for DS Express Saver : £2.5/kg

    Overweight for Air : £5/kg

    Group Order overweight  for Sea/DS Express Saver/Air:  £5/kg

    Personal suitcase: Extra £45/ box (standard size) & £55/box (oversize)

    Do you match cheaper quotes from any other cargo agent?

    Offering high standards of service and convenience, we will also endeavour to match cheaper quotes from any other cargo agent. If you find a better quote elsewhere, just bring us a competitor’s quote in writing and we will beat it.

    We care about providing an unparalleled service level. This service is further enhanced through no hidden extra charges and on screen price Excludes VAT where applicable.

    Do I have to pay any duty or tax?

    Duty charges vary widely according to origin and destination. However, in many cases goods owned and used for at least 6-15 months do not incur any charges.

    Please bear in mind that we have no control over the actions of Customs Services anywhere in the world. It is your responsibility to ensure that you abide by the rules and regulations of the country of origin and destination of your luggage.

    WARNING: Alcohol or tobacco delay the clearance process, invite Customs inspection and incur extra charges, amounting RMB 2000 plus applicable tax and duty. All electronic items shipped are liable for tax and duty in China in regardless of new or used goods. This is not an exhaustive list, we are unable to monitor the requirements of all countries to which we send international shipments.

    You can send 5kg of milk powder in your shipment of personal effects with no additional charge.
